Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and Alexander Thomas Rippon, trading as Iron Focus("Iron Focus", "we", "us") for use of the Iron Focus training app.

By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Iron Focus is a software tool for logging training, building or following programs, and (where you choose) working with a coach. Features depend on your account:

• Free logger — log workouts and use the tools included with that plan
• Paid self-coach — subscribe for generation and paid programming tools
• Independent coach — subscribe to coach clients in the app
• Iron Focus gym / coached member — app access included with that relationship, billed according to your gym or coaching arrangement

Current prices for app subscriptions are on the Pricing page and are in New Zealand dollars.

2. Eligibility

You must be able to enter a contract under New Zealand law. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you before you use the app. You must provide accurate account details and keep your login confidential.

3. Not medical advice

The app, generated programs, optimizations, feedback, and any content from us or other users are for training organisation only. They are not medical, physiotherapy, or nutritional advice. You are responsible for whether training is appropriate for you. Get professional advice if you are injured, unwell, or unsure. Train at your own risk.

4. Coaches and clients

If you connect with a coach in the app, that coaching relationship is between you and the coach. Iron Focus provides the software. It is not a party to your coaching contract unless we are ourselves your Iron Focus coach.

Coaches must only use client information to coach that person in the app, and must not misuse messages, videos, or training data. Clients understand that an active coach can see and edit training information needed to do that job.

5. Subscriptions and billing

• Paid app plans are billed in NZD through Stripe.
• You can manage or cancel an app subscription from Subscription in the app, subject to the current plan rules and any period already paid.
• If payment fails, we may limit paid features or lock access until billing is resolved.
• Iron Focus gym memberships are billed on the gym website, not through in-app Stripe. Cancel those on the gym site.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

• Use someone else's account, or let others use yours, except as we allow for coaching
• Harass, abuse, or impersonate anyone in messages or elsewhere in the app
• Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content
• Probe, scrape, or disrupt the service, or try to access other people's data
• Use the app to provide medical treatment or to claim we endorse a health outcome

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of workouts, templates, messages, photos, and videos you create. You grant Iron Focus a licence to host, process, and display that content as needed to run the app (including showing it to a coach or rival where you have that relationship).

You are responsible for content you upload and for having the right to upload it (including videos of other people).

8. Our intellectual property

The app, branding, example programs we publish, and our software remain ours (or our licensors'). You may not copy, reverse engineer, or resell the service except as the law allows.

9. Optional features

• Push notifications are optional. You can disable them in the browser or in the app where that setting exists.
• Rivals share training comparisons only if you take part. You can decline or end a rivalry.

10. Account archive and deletion

From Profile you can archive (keep history, end relationships and app billing) or delete (lock now, permanently remove data after 30 days unless you restore by signing in). Gym members must cancel gym billing first. Details are in the Privacy policy.

11. Availability

We aim to keep the app available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may change. We are not liable for training outcomes, missed sessions, or decisions you or a coach make using the app.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot be limited by contract. Where we are allowed to limit liability for consumers, and for business users, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, data, or opportunity, arising from the app.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for a claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim (or NZD $100 if you paid nothing).

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. If you continue to use the app after an update, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the app and close your account.

14. New Zealand law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. New Zealand courts have jurisdiction, without limiting any consumer rights you have to use other forums the law allows.
